Your shop does not need a webshop. It does need a website!
Sooner or later almost every shopkeeper is told they should sell online. For most local shops that is bad advice: you then compete on price and shipping with parties who are better at it, while your actual advantage — that you are here, with those people and that knowledge — is nowhere to be found on the internet.
What does work is a site that brings people to your door. Anyone searching nearby should find you, see that you are open, and know that you have it.
Better: getting found
Opening hours that are correct, your range in text, photos of the shop and a strong Google Business Profile. That brings people physically in, and costs a fraction of a webshop.
A page per brand or product group you carry also catches exactly the searches people are walking around with.
Where a shop site makes the difference!
Opening hours correct everywhere
The same on your site, in your Google listing and on your door. Sounds obvious, and it is the most common mistake that costs customers — especially around holidays.
Your brands and range in text
People search for a brand plus your municipality. If you carry that brand, it belongs on your site. One sentence per brand is often enough to appear.
Photos of the shop itself
People want to see where they are walking into before making the trip. The window, the counter, you behind the till: it works better than whatever the supplier sends you.
A reason to come to you specifically
Advice, repairs, a brand nobody else carries, thirty years in the same street. That is exactly what a webshop cannot do, and it is rarely mentioned anywhere.
Starting small works best here!
Findable
A compact site plus a complete Google Business Profile. Often ready within two weeks and immediately the biggest effect.
Expanding
Pages per brand or product group, news about what has come in, and photos you keep adding yourself.
Selling
Only once the first two steps bring in visitors do we look at whether selling online or click and collect makes sense.
More people through the door
Drop in on us, or let us come by your shop. That works best anyway.
